The "Second Global Metaverse Conference and Metaverse Thirty-Person Forum Inaugural Conference" was successfully held on May 14-15, 2022. IBI President Qian Xiaojun was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech on "Industry Internet and Metaverse".


This was the country's first cross-time, cross-industry global metaverse dialogue. The conference was themed "Creating the Metaverse", focusing on popular metaverse applications like virtual humans, digital twins, and digital art, as well as underlying technologies such as blockchain, AI, and XR hardware equipment. Discussions revolved around core topics like the metaverse industry ecosystem, digital civilization, industry technology, business models, and application scenarios, aiming to assist government and traditional industry upgrades, promote China's and the global metaverse industry's innovative practices, contribute to China's economic transformation and high-quality development, and explore global governance in the digital age.

Shang Bing, Chairman of the China Internet Association, and Lin Zuoming, Chairman of the China Aviation Society, delivered speeches. More than 100 opinion leaders, experts, scholars, corporate representatives, and media representatives from renowned research institutions, well-known universities, major technology listed companies, industry associations, and think tank platforms locally and internationally attended.


On the afternoon of the 15th, President Qian Xiaojun, as the executive director of the "Metaverse Thirty-Person Forum", was invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Industry Internet and Metaverse".

Here are some shared viewpoints from the keynote speech:


Industrial digitalization has become an irreversible development trend, and the full integration of digital economy and real economy is a key aspect of the new round of industrial transformation.

Industrial Internet is an important path for industrial development under the digital economy. Based on digital technology, it delves into the industrial chain, supply chain, and value chain, with customer demand at its core, driven by transactions and orders, realizing online and offline, across the network and channels, achieving end-to-end full-chain, full-process, full-scenario, and full-lifecycle. Industrial Internet builds dual engines through network collaboration and data intelligence in production transaction links, with data, algorithms, and computing power driving demand-guiding supply (C2B) and supply-creating demand (B2C).


❊    Digital transaction scenarios, digital factories, intelligent manufacturing, industrial VR, digital supply chain, and digital business under the industrial internet architecture belong to the metaverse's industrial applications, referred to as industrial metaverse.


❊   The industrial metaverse will be supported by data foundation, simulation engines, intelligent core, hardware carriers, and open collaborative ecosystem, driving the manufacturing innovation of production paradigms and optimization paradigms in the future.

Regarding production paradigms, production and manufacturing upgrades in the physical world are mapped to the metaverse where simulations seek innovative solutions, significantly reducing innovation costs and unleashing innovation potential.

Regarding optimization paradigms, optimizing production processes in the physical world are hindered by lengthy and fragmented links and usually can only achieve single-point optimization, failing to enhance full-chain efficiency. In the metaverse, it breaks data silos, offers unified expression forms and data interaction protocols for fragmented production links, so that single-point optimization paradigms can transition to full-chain collaborative optimization, greatly improving industrial efficiency.


❊   Applications of metaverse technologies like digital twins, digital co-existence, and digital origin in design, procurement, production, marketing, transactions, logistics, and after-sales within the supply chain, and the innovation in new materials, new equipment, and new processes will bring revolutionary impacts.

 We closely focus on the future deep application of metaverse underlying technologies in the industrial and supply chains, especially in the incremental systems of industrial digital twins, digital co-existence, and digital origin, which align with the company's platform, technology, data strategy, and digital factory construction. The future deep integration of metaverse technologies with the real economy will bring greater value. We will rely on the industrial internet platform to fully leverage the creative capabilities of the digital world to actively propel the process of industrial digitalization.
