On July 2, the Director General of the Burundi Mining Bureau (OBM)Balthazar Niyanyuyeand his delegation visited the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters. IBI Director and Senior Vice PresidentLiu Zhai, along with the President's Special Advisor and Senior Vice President of the Industrial Development DepartmentLydia, warmly received them. Both parties, focusing on high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and the Digital Silk Road, held in-depth discussions on topics such as the digital transformation of the entire mining industry chain, local capacity building, and green sustainable development. They officially signed a comprehensive mining development cooperation framework agreement, joining hands to promote high-quality and sustainable development of China-Africa mining cooperation.

At the meeting, Liu Zhai provided a detailed introduction to IBI's "platform, technology, data" triad industrial internet development strategy, as well as the company's practical achievements in industrial e-commerce, industrial digitalization, and cross-border services for industrial clusters. She stated that IBI has long been deeply involved in cross-border supply chain services, overseas digital economy platform construction, and compliant cross-border transactions of mineral products, accumulating mature cross-border cooperation experience and technical service capabilities.

Burundi is endowed with abundant mineral resources, with significant potential for mining development and an urgent need for upgrades. Liu Zhai emphasized that this signing marks a new starting point for mutual trust, win-win outcomes, and pragmatic cooperation between the two parties. IBI will strictly adhere to the laws and regulations of both China and Burundi, respect Burundi's national mineral sovereignty and development plans, and fully leverage its advantages in digital technology, industrial resources, and supply chains. Focusing on Burundi's actual needs, IBI will advance cooperation in phases and in compliance with regulations, including laboratory capacity building, co-development of digital exploration technologies, green mining development, and local industrial chain cultivation, helping Burundi transform its resource advantages into development advantages and achieve complementary strengths, mutual benefits, and long-term stable cooperation between China and Africa.

Balthazar Niyanyuye highly recognized IBI's capabilities in industrial digitalization services and cross-border cooperation. He provided a detailed introduction to Burundi's mining development plans and key needs, expressing hope to leverage IBI's digital platform and supply chain resources to accelerate the introduction of laboratory equipment, enhance testing capabilities, localize the application of intelligent exploration technologies, and connect with high-quality industrial resources. This would lay a solid foundation for the scientific development of key mining areas in Burundi, the assessment of mineral resource potential, and the modernization of the local mining industry.

The signing of this cooperation framework agreement is an important outcome of long-term in-depth communication and precise alignment of needs between the two parties. It is also a significant step for IBI in implementing the spirit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and deepening cross-border industrial services in Africa. Moving forward, both parties will establish a regular high-level communication and work coordination mechanism, strictly comply with the regulatory and approval processes of both countries, and steadily advance laboratory construction, localized technical training, digital platform development, and green development projects in accordance with the law. They aim to make this project a benchmark model for cross-border mining digitalization, sustainability, and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa.

IBITDD Vice President and General Manager of IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters Daniel, IBITDD Africa Regional Director Zhang Guohua; Burundi Mining Bureau's Director of Finance and Administration Claudette Mahoro, and Laboratory Director Dr. Désiré Niyongabo also attended the aforementioned meeting and signing ceremony.
