CCTV News reported that on the 17th, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a special consultative meeting in Beijing to "promote the sustainable and healthy development of the digital economy." Wang Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the CPPCC, attended and delivered a speech. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discussions on the development of the digital economy, scientifically assessing the situation, enhancing development confidence, and dialectically considering and coordinating the relationship between development and security, to continuously strengthen, optimize, and expand the digital economy, thereby better serving and integrating into the new development pattern and promoting high-quality development.

Nearly a hundred members of the CPPCC attended the meeting, with 29 members and experts speaking at the event, while over 140 members expressed their views through the online platform for member duties. The members believe that China's position as a major digital economy is stable, with broad prospects for future development. It's important to leverage the advantages of the new nationwide system and the advantages of the super-large-scale market, strengthen research on key core technologies, and firmly grasp the autonomy of developing the digital economy. Efforts should be made to deeply integrate the digital economy with the real economy, guide small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation, fully tap into the development potential of the industrial internet, and facilitate the new generation of information technology in empowering equipment, adding value to enterprises, and enabling industries. Clarify the rights of data ownership, usage, operation, and benefits to stimulate corporate innovation vitality on the foundation of ensuring national network and data security. Encourage international cooperation in the digital economy and actively participate in the global digital governance process.

Liu He, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the global digital economy is exhibiting new characteristics such as intelligence, quantization, and cross-boundary integration. Efforts must be made to adapt to the comprehensive changes brought by the digital economy, tackle key core technology challenges, support the sustainable and healthy development of platform and private economies, properly manage the relationship between government and the market, and support digital enterprises in listing on domestic and international capital markets to encourage competition through openness and innovation through competition.

Zhang Qingli, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, presided over the meeting. Officials from relevant departments and units of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council attended to listen to opinions and suggestions and consult with members in an exchange.
