The North American Alumni Association of Renmin University of China (RUCNAAA) was registered in Delaware, USA, in June 2015, with its operational headquarters located in New York City. Its main members are spread across major cities in the US and Canada, providing an online and offline platform for thousands of alumni in North America to communicate, share information, and engage in friendly interactions and mutual support. In December 2018, former US President Jimmy Carter specifically wrote to RUCNAAA: "Forty years ago, it was hard to imagine that a prestigious Chinese university like Renmin University could establish such an active and strong alumni organization in the United States. Through your alumni association, it can be demonstrated how significant China's progress has been and what achievements a country can attain by investing in education."
This meeting is particularly significant as it precedes the APEC summit in San Francisco, USA, where Chinese and American leaders will meet. Numerous elite alumni from Wall Street have provided insights into the future of the global economy and investments, and conducted thorough discussions on the development of China-U.S. relations.
