This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, coinciding with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor entering a new phase of high-quality development under CPEC 2.0. On May 13, the IBIIBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters was officially inaugurated in Islamabad, Pakistan. Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar attended the event and delivered an important speech. Officials from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, heads of various Pakistani ministries, and representatives from over 200 leading enterprises from both countries gathered to witness this milestone moment in China-Pakistan digital economic cooperation. The launch of this project injects new digital and industrial vitality into the construction of a closer China-Pakistan community of shared destiny in the new era.
"The launch of the IBIIBI Digital Economy Headquarters marks a transformative milestone in the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan," said Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in his speech. "Today, we are moving from roads to networks, from physical infrastructure to digital architecture. We are building a digital Silk Road, starting with the inauguration of the IBIIBI Digital Economy Headquarters in Islamabad. This is another milestone in the friendship between China and Pakistan, reflecting the international community's growing confidence in Pakistan's future as a platform for technology, investment, and digital transformation."
On May 14, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with IBI founder and president Qian Xiaojun and his delegation at the Prime Minister's Office. He fully affirmed IBIIBI's efforts in deepening bilateral industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan and supporting the high-quality development of CPEC 2.0 through a series of pragmatic initiatives. In response to this event, IBIIBI will host two B2B conferences in Hangzhou and Beijing, China.

Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, who has visited IBI multiple times, stated that IBI serves as a bridge and link connecting Chinese and Pakistani enterprises and is a civilian ambassador for the two countries' businesses. IBI has been deeply involved in China-Pakistan digital industrial cooperation, regularly linking government and business resources, and facilitating enterprise connections and project implementation, turning the directives of the two countries' top leaders into tangible industrial cooperation outcomes.
To address the challenges of cross-border trade information barriers, geographical restrictions, and inefficient connections, the organizers held a series of high-level industrial matchmaking events in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi alongside this conference. These events covered key areas of complementary strengths between China and Pakistan, such as chemicals, textiles, renewable energy, building materials, electronics, and automobiles. Through precise B2B matching, the events helped enterprises from both countries meet their needs and explore cooperation potential. The establishment of digital platforms and the improvement of full-chain service systems effectively addressed the difficulties faced by domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in going global and landing projects. Leveraging IBI's resource pool of over 3.6 million enterprise members, many high-quality SMEs have gained low-cost, high-efficiency channels for international expansion.
"The advantages of mature domestic industrial and supply chains and digital operation capabilities align closely with Pakistan's urgent needs for industrial upgrading and digital transformation," said IBI founder and president Qian Xiaojun. "Pakistan is the first core site in IBI's global layout and a strategic pivot for enterprises to deepen their presence in the Belt and Road market. The newly launched IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters will rely on a mature 6+N full-chain service system to provide one-stop, end-to-end services for enterprises from both countries, including cross-border transactions, intelligent logistics, digital supply chain building, cloud AI empowerment, joint venture project facilitation, and investment compliance assurance. It will also establish a China-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce exchange platform, comprehensively empowering the co-construction and win-win development of the industrial ecosystems of both countries."
Currently, China and Pakistan are fully advancing the construction of the Digital Silk Road and CPEC 2.0, relying on the "Action Plan for Building a Closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Destiny in the New Era (2025-2029)." Key focuses include industrial upgrading, digital economy cooperation, renewable energy development, and livelihood projects. The establishment of the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters aligns precisely with the strategic development directions of both countries, becoming a core carrier for industrial digital cooperation in the CPEC 2.0 phase. This platform integrates multiple functions, including trade facilitation, investment promotion, supply chain digitization, SME empowerment, and policy dialogue, effectively reducing cross-border cooperation risks and improving industrial matchmaking efficiency, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable digital economic ecosystem between China and Pakistan.
IBI Senior Vice President Liu Zhai emotionally stated on-site that promoting the deep integration of industrial needs between China and Pakistan and creating a benchmark model for private enterprise clusters going global will continue to bring new vitality to the ironclad friendship between China and Pakistan through industrial win-win cooperation and digital empowerment.
It is reported that over 110 cooperation agreements were signed during this event. The enthusiastic atmosphere of cooperation indicates the vigorous trend of deep integration and coordinated development between China's high-quality production capacity, digital technology, and Pakistan's local industries, injecting continuous digital momentum and industrial vitality into the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between China and Pakistan in the new era.
