People’s Daily Online: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Meets with a Delegation of Chinese Entrepreneurs

ISLAMABAD, May 17 (People’s Daily Online) — According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met on May 15 at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad with an 11-member delegation from Beijing United Information Technology Co., Ltd. (IBI).

Prime Minister Sharif stated that IBI will help promote digital economy cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese enterprises and contribute to Pakistan’s digital transformation.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif noted that China has achieved remarkable development across various sectors. He emphasized that Pakistan and China are all-weather strategic cooperative partners with a long-standing traditional friendship.

On May 13, the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters was officially inaugurated in Islamabad. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for the launch and encouraged Chinese enterprises represented by IBI to further expand their investment in Pakistan.

“Deepened cooperation between IBI and Pakistani enterprises will help Pakistan accelerate its digital transformation and further facilitate investment. The cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese enterprises is highly encouraging,” Prime Minister Sharif said.

During the meeting, Qian Xiaojun, Founder and CEO of IBI, expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s economic prospects and stated that IBI is committed to helping Pakistan build a more comprehensive digital ecosystem and advance the development of its digital economy.

“The IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters will open a gateway to the Chinese market for Pakistani small and medium-sized enterprises and create greater opportunities for Pakistan,” Qian Xiaojun said.
