On March 28, under the supervision and release of Xingsha Customs affiliated with Changsha Customs, the China-Europe Railway Express (Changsha) "Five New Special Train" departed from Changsha International Railway Port heading to Europe; on March 31, the second "Five New Special Train" will continue to operate, heading to Europe. Both special trains are fully loaded with nearly 100 containers, all of which are high-precision intelligent bridge templates independently developed and manufactured by Hunan Five New Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Five New Technology"). This product is mainly used in major infrastructure construction such as high-speed railways and large bridges in Europe.

It is understood that Five New Technology, as a Hunan enterprise deeply engaged in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing, has overseas business covering key regions such as Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, and has established long-term stable cooperative relationships with multiple countries and regions.

Previously, Hunan enterprises exported goods to Europe and overseas core markets mainly through maritime transport for a long time. However, the traditional maritime transport mode itself has inherent shortcomings such as long transportation cycles, uncertain delivery times, and large fluctuations in shipping schedules, which are easily affected by factors such as port scheduling, weather changes, and international geopolitical situations, leading to delays, container rejection, and port congestion, making it difficult to meet the high requirements of high-end equipment manufacturing for delivery timeliness and supply chain stability.

The recent global shipping turmoil triggered by the Middle East situation has further amplified the risks of the maritime transport mode, directly posing severe challenges to enterprises' cargo transportation to Europe, timely order delivery, and overseas supply chain stability.

To address the challenges brought by global shipping fluctuations to Hunan enterprises, the Logistics and Port Office of the Changsha Municipal People's Government led a team to conduct in-depth research on enterprises such as Five New Technology, and conducted on-site investigations into the logistics needs and core pain points of enterprise exports. Under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, provincial and municipal port departments coordinated with customs, railways, and other units, and jointly with the train operation platform Hunan Zhongnan International Land Port Co., Ltd., tailored a full-process special train transportation guarantee plan for enterprises.

Gan Peng, Director of Strategic Customer Development at Five New Technology, stated that switching to the China-Europe Railway Express instead of traditional maritime transport has brought multi-dimensional practical improvements to the enterprise.

In terms of transportation timeliness, the entire process is stable and controllable, with the cycle compressed by more than 50%, completely eliminating the delay risks caused by shipping schedule fluctuations in the past; in terms of logistics costs, it saves a lot of expenses compared to air transport, making the overall cost more reasonable, and this special train shipment directly saved the enterprise over 10% of logistics costs; in terms of supply chain stability, the regular operation and fixed routes of the China-Europe Railway Express effectively solve the uncertainty of maritime transport under international situation fluctuations; in terms of cargo safety, the entire process is closed transportation with real-time tracking and positioning, resulting in a very low cargo damage rate, fully ensuring the transportation quality of high-end equipment.

Geely Automobile also relies on this stable and efficient land route to complete the upgrade and transformation of its international logistics model. "In the past, car exports usually went by sea, taking 45 to 60 days to reach Europe. Now, transportation via the China-Europe Railway Express (Changsha) takes only about 15 days, saving nearly a month of time, providing enterprises with a choice of overseas shipment with low comprehensive costs and high transportation efficiency," said Li Fang, Manager of Geely Automobile International Sales Company. Relying on the regular operation of the China-Europe Railway Express (Changsha), the enterprise has already operated multiple export special trains, achieving significant results in terms of timeliness, cost, and supply chain stability.
