Accompanied by IBI Director, Board Secretary, and Senior Vice President Pan Yong, the parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as economic and trade cooperation, industrial alignment, and friendship city construction, reaching multiple consensuses.
The delegation first visited IBI, where they learned in detail about the company's achievements in fields such as digital supply chain, cross-border e-commerce, and green industries, with a focus on its innovative practices in international trade services and industrial digital transformation. Mayor Menéndez highly praised IBI's platform resources and technological advantages, stating that as an important industrial node city in Buenos Aires Province, Merlo City has distinct features in areas such as agricultural product processing, manufacturing, and logistics hub construction. He expressed that IBI's digital service capabilities and global resource integration experience align closely with Merlo City's development needs, and anticipates building a pragmatic bridge through enterprise cooperation to facilitate the two-way flow of high-quality resources between the two regions.
During the discussion, Deputy District Chief Lin Yanhong warmly welcomed the delegation's visit and introduced the development advantages of Fengtai District in scientific and technological innovation, modern service industries, and international exchanges. She pointed out that as an important development engine in the southern part of Beijing, Fengtai has significant locational advantages and great development potential, and is actively integrating into China-Argentina cooperation to contribute "Fengtai strength" to the joint exploration of mutually beneficial cooperation models.
Mayor Menéndez praised China's achievements and sincerity in cooperation, emphasizing that the Justicialist Party always values its relations with China and will actively promote comprehensive exchanges between Argentine local governments and China. He stated that Merlo City has a good industrial foundation and ample development space and is willing to provide favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Argentina. He especially looks forward to deep cooperation with Fengtai District and IBI in areas such as cross-border trade of agricultural products and industrial digital upgrading, and also promoting people-to-people exchanges in culture and education to let China-Argentina friendship take root at the local level.
The Argentine Embassy in China's diplomat, Homero Koncurat, attended the discussion and expressed that Fengtai District's industrial advantages and open stance are impressive, while Argentina possesses resource endowments and development potential in fields such as agriculture and manufacturing. IBI Director/Board Secretary and Senior Vice President Pan Yong provided a comprehensive introduction to the company's development history and core businesses to the attending guests. Based on the resource endowments of both parties, business heads of IBIFDD, LYDD, and other sections proposed specific cooperation plans: on one hand, leveraging the complementary supply and demand of quality agricultural products such as Argentine soybeans and beef with Chinese industrial products like fertilizers and pesticides to expand the scale of bilateral trade and explore the construction of overseas warehouses to help Argentine agricultural products expand into the global market; on the other hand, through the joint construction of industrial parks, focusing on areas such as agricultural product processing, fertilizer production, and digital logistics to promote coordinated development of the industrial chain and assist Argentina in enhancing industrial added value and digitalization levels.
