From September 22 to September 24, 2021, the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress organized a meeting on the economic performance for the first three quarters of 2021. Participants included relevant departments from 15 ministries such as the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance; 9 industry associations such as the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China Material Procurement Alliance, China Machinery Industry Federation; 9 enterprises including State Grid, Sinovac Biotech, IBI; and expert leaders from the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Economic Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission.

The main content of the discussion included the economic performance for the first three quarters and the major issues that need attention, as well as the analysis and forecast of the annual main indicators and economic trends.

Pan Yong, the Board Secretary and Senior Vice President of IBI, delivered a special report titled "The Role of the Industrial Internet Platform in Stabilizing the Supply Chain and Industrial Chain Development." In response to the requirements of the "supplementing the chain, optimizing the chain, and strengthening the chain" outlined in the "14th Five-Year Plan" of China, and based on the operational practice of IBI's industrial internet platform in the first three quarters and observations on the operation of industries involved, the report discussed promoting the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises with the industrial internet platform; promoting the interaction and intercommunication of data from different industrial fields under government regulation to form effective decision-making models; and the need to differentially advance the "supplementing the chain, optimizing the chain, and strengthening the chain" according to the development status of different industries. It expressed hope that relevant government departments could pay more attention and provide support.
