On May 26, H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, led a high-level delegation to visit the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters. In his keynote remarks, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized, in line with the spirit of the China–Pakistan Joint Statement, that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and are jointly building an even closer China–Pakistan Community with a Shared Future in the new era. He noted that both countries are working together to advance the transformation of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) toward industrialization, private-sector participation, and two-way investment.
Prime Minister Sharif further stated that IBI represents a model case for implementing the China–Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, serving as an important bridge connecting enterprises of both countries and acting as a people-to-people ambassador for business cooperation between China and Pakistan.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, with bilateral practical cooperation continuing to deepen. In line with its overall corporate strategy, IBI has actively expanded its third growth curve of cross-border industrial belt development under the Belt and Road Initiative, with Pakistan identified as one of its key strategic markets.
From May 8 to 14, an IBI delegation conducted extensive cooperation exchanges in Pakistan and was warmly received by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. On May 13, the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters was officially inaugurated in Islamabad. H.E. Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, attended the launch ceremony and delivered remarks, highly praising the project as a transformative milestone in the China–Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He stated that the initiative signifies a transition from traditional infrastructure cooperation to digital infrastructure cooperation and the joint development of a Digital Silk Road, opening a new chapter in China–Pakistan digital economy collaboration.
On May 24, IBI co-hosted the Pakistan–China B2B Investment Summit in Hangzhou, where Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif delivered keynote remarks and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between IBI and RIC. On May 25, the Prime Minister arrived in Beijing and met with Chinese state leaders. On May 26, Prime Minister Sharif led a delegation to visit IBI.
