  On April 3, the Ministry of Transport held a party group meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, listen to reports on transportation safety production accidents in March and the situation of duty and on-call work during the Qingming holiday, and deploy efforts to ensure transportation safety and stability. Liu Wei, Party Secretary and Minister of the Ministry, presided over the meeting.

  The meeting emphasized the need to deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, resolutely uphold the authority and centralized leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and prioritize the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and the decisions of the CPC Central Committee. It called for unwavering focus on tasks set by the CPC Central Committee, rigorous implementation, and close integration with the realities of transportation, emphasizing practical and diligent efforts to enhance proactivity and creativity in work. The meeting stressed the importance of establishing and practicing a correct view of achievements, striving to deliver results for the people through practical efforts, accelerating the construction of transportation that satisfies the people, and creating achievements that withstand the test of practice, the people, and history. It called for strict adherence to democratic centralism, leveraging the leadership role of the party group in setting direction, managing major issues, and ensuring implementation. The meeting also emphasized the need to firmly shoulder the political responsibility of party governance, unwaveringly advance comprehensive and strict party discipline, persistently implement the spirit of the CPC Central Committee's eight-point regulations and their detailed rules, deeply address formalism to reduce burdens on grassroots, and advance the construction of clean transportation in depth.

  The meeting emphasized the need to deeply study and comprehend Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization, thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his participation in the capital's voluntary tree-planting activity, firmly establish the concept of green development, implement initiatives such as "road-to-rail," "road-to-water," and multimodal transport, promote the large-scale application of new energy heavy trucks, build zero-carbon transportation corridors and hubs, and advance the green and low-carbon development of transportation.

  The meeting emphasized the need to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, establish and practice a correct view of achievements, uphold the principles of putting people first and prioritizing life, resolutely shoulder the political responsibility of maintaining safety and stability, strengthen bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, overcome complacency and luck mentality, tighten the chain of safety responsibilities, and resolutely prevent and curb major accidents to create a safe and stable social environment for a good start to the "15th Five-Year Plan." It called for resolute efforts in transportation safety production, adhering to the principles of safety first, prevention-oriented, and comprehensive treatment, strictly implementing the safety production responsibility system, focusing on major risk hazard investigation and rectification, solidly carrying out flood season safety prevention, emphasizing proactive defense through "response, inspection, control," strictly implementing the requirements of suspending, closing, and evacuating during warning weather, advancing special governance of prominent issues such as collisions between commercial and fishing vessels, and meticulously managing safety supervision in key areas such as construction projects, "two passengers and one hazardous," port hazardous goods, and inland waterway passenger transport. The meeting also stressed strengthening duty and on-call work, enhancing monitoring and dispatching, closely monitoring service guarantees for large passenger flows in holiday hotspot areas, safety management of tourist charter buses and scenic area boats, and disaster weather prevention and response, pressing enterprises to fulfill their primary responsibilities, upgrading control of major hazard sources, and ensuring safe, stable, and orderly transportation during holidays.
