Recently, Bai Yong, Vice President of Cross-Border Strategy at IBI, Yang Nan, Executive Director of Guojie Lianneng, and Shao Zhaojun, Senior Vice President of IBI TDD, were invited to visit Jizan and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a field study on cross-border cooperation. During the visit, the delegation paid courtesy visits to the Governor of Jizan Province, the Mayor of Jizan City, and the Jizan Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Chairman of the China–Saudi Trade Consulting Committee in Riyadh, the External Liaison Department of the Ministry of Industry, the China City Project Planning Team, and RIVA Trade Development Company, among other government leaders, institutions, and organizations. The delegation conducted multi-dimensional discussions to explore potential areas for in-depth cooperation between IBI and Saudi Arabia.

As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030, the country is rapidly emerging as a key destination for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas. Its unique geographic location and market-oriented economic environment give it significant advantages in building a cross-border e-commerce platform serving the Middle East and global markets. During the exchanges, Saudi government officials and representatives from relevant institutions and enterprises expressed their hope to leverage IBI’s digital technology capabilities in industrial e-commerce platforms to jointly build cross-border e-commerce platforms, while also supporting the development of local B2B e-commerce platforms to help traditional enterprises achieve transaction digitalization.

In addition, both sides discussed the establishment of smart supply chain platforms, utilizing technologies such as the internet, Internet of Things (IoT), and real-time tracking to enable efficient collaboration and intelligent supply chain management. By applying big data analytics, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, combined with Saudi Arabia’s local consumption characteristics, the cooperation aims to achieve “brand reshaping” and “re-export” of Chinese consumer goods in Saudi Arabia.

Bai Yong, CEO of IBI’s cross-border business, stated that IBI will fully leverage its extensive experience and technological strengths in the B2B e-commerce sector, and, in line with local conditions in Saudi Arabia, provide comprehensive digital solutions and technical support covering digital e-commerce platform construction, operations, and professional talent development. These efforts will promote the brand reshaping and re-export of Chinese consumer goods and industrial products in the Saudi market.
This visit and exchange have laid a solid foundation for deepened cooperation between IBI and Saudi Arabia. Moving forward, both sides will continue to leverage their respective strengths to explore new cooperation opportunities in the cross-border e-commerce sector, contributing to the advancement of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
